The Role of Tinted Primers

We applied a first coat of Majorelle Blue to two different backgrounds:

top left, on a classic white undercoat, and top right, on a tinted undercoat.

The difference is immediately visible: on the tinted coat, the opacity is much higher, with a color that is already more intense and very close to the final result. Conversely, on the white background, the coverage is less even.

This preparation allows the full depth of Majorelle Blue to be revealed and an optimal result to be obtained from the very first coat. This does not alter the final result in any way, quite the opposite.

Tinted undercoats (or false tints) are essential to ensure good opacity and a perfect rendering of bright colors. Feel free to consult our blog post on this subject.
